Smarter Home 4U are a family owned, family run business, led by our Managing Director Tony Turner, founded in 2011. Previously, Tony co-owned a Bathroom Showroom before striking out on his own, to build a legacy for his family.
In late 2023 Ian Burns joined us as a Director. Ian’s focus is on business growth having owned several successful businesses.
Our bookkeeper, Mary, is Tony’s mum, and Rebecca, our Head of Admin, is Tony’s daughter. Rebecca often brings in her daughters, Lyla and Esme, to visit during the school holidays. There’ll be four generations in the office that day. And, yes, the grandchildren have Smarter Home 4U ‘workwear’!
At Smarter Home 4U, we cover everything from a media wall to a full house refurbishment. Our core team are all employed and consist of multi-skilled joiners, bricklayers and plumbers. Specialist trades: Electricians, Heating Engineers, Plasterers and Roofers, who meet our high standards, are brought in as and when required. This broad skill mix means we can deliver bathrooms and kitchens to the high specification our discerning customers require and complete a garage conversion or an extension build with the same focus on quality.
We expect to double in size over the coming year or two and will continue to recruit and train at least two apprentices a year. The home-owners of South Manchester and East Cheshire clearly appreciate our work, and we will continue to meet customers’ requirements, delivering the high-quality home improvements they desire. We know that some of our current craftsmen have the makings of the managers and directors of the future and succession planning is ongoing. I am confident that Smarter Home 4U will be here for decades.
